A teenage boy has died, and another has been charged with murder after a brawl at a KFC in Casino, New South Wales.
Police and emergency services were called to the Centre Street address just after 5pm Sunday following reports of an all-out violent brawl.
Police arrived to find two teens suffering multiple stab wounds, and despite the best efforts of emergency services one of the teens, 17-year-old Lachlan Andrews, died at the scene.
An 18-year-old also injured in the brawl, was taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Superintendent Scott Tanner said that around twenty people were involved in the altercation according to footage obtained by police. Superintendent Tanner added,
“There seems to have been some kind of arranged meeting, out of that meeting an altercation started with a number of people.”
Police later charged a 17-year-old on Dairy Street in Casino around 3 hours later. The teen was charged with murder, reckless wounding and affray and was set to appear in the Children’s Court.
Detectives from Richmond Police District have formed Strike Force Meryta and will continue with investigations into the incident.
