Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating a sexual assault in Melbourne’s CBD in early May.
Allegedly a 20-year-old woman and her friends were walking along Lonsdale Street near the intersection of King Street when they were approached by an unknown group of men around 5am on Sunday May 8th.
One of the men then sexually assaulted the victim by groping her bottom.
An altercation began between the two groups at this point and after that, the victim was slapped across the face.
The men then left on foot, heading towards Lonsdale Street, and the female victim was taken to hospital with bruising and a concussion.

The man is believed to be of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with shoulder-length dark hair in bunched, dreadlock type curls, wearing a light blue t-shirt, faded jeans, and had a dark beanie tucked into the front of his jeans.
