Another tragic death has rocked the Indian music industry, as New Delhi musician Sheil Sagar has passed away due to unknown causes.
Indian news outlets have reported that Sagar passed away on Wednesday and no cause of death has yet been determined.
News of Sagar’s passing was confirmed on social media as one friend tweeted:
“Today is a sad day. First KK and then this beautiful budding musician who had us in awe with his rendition of my favourite song “Wicked Games.” May you rest in peace.
Fans shared their condolences and memories of the singer, saying that Sagar made music people really loved and were able to connect with.
A rising star on the Indian music scene, the baritone, whose 2021 song “If I Tried” has been streamed on Spotify over 40,000, was loved by friends and fans alike.
Swarajanlihansraj, from the band Hansraj College, also took to Twitter to share his condolences and remember Sagar as an artist and as ‘family:
“Goodbye, Sheil. Thank you for the music. You’ll always be a part of the Swaranjali family.”
“One day hopefully I’ll look back and smile, these memories having made life worthwhile. No longer wishing for time to be still, I can only dream until. -Sheil Sagar, Still.”
