An almost 2-month-old baby has died in Southeastern Brazil in horrific circumstances last Tuesday.
Beautiful baby girl, Isabel, was allegedly thrown out of a second-floor window by her father during an argument with Isabel’s mother.
Police were informed by neighbours that the pair were fighting, when the father, who is yet to be named, threw the infant out of the window of the Tabajaras home.
It is reported that little Isabel fell five meters to the ground and later succumbed to her severe head injuries in hospital. An autopsy confirmed that the 57-day-old died as a result of a traumatic brain injury.
Isabel’s 36-year-old mother told police that while the father did not live in the home, he had come to visit his daughter. She had been cooking and went to the kitchen to check a ‘pot of rice pudding.’ When she returned, she saw her daughter lying on the street.
The mother told police that the 26-year-old man had previously allegedly punched her in the stomach during her pregnancy with Isabel and confirmed that the two of them argued regularly.
After throwing tiny Isabel out of the window, the man fled the scene but turned himself in to the police sometime later.
When questioned by police it is alleged that he declined to give his version of events. He will face charges of aggravated homicide.
