A 92-year-old man sustained minor injuries after he was struck by a car in Altona on Sunday 1 May 2022.

The elderly man was crossing Pier Street, near the IGA supermarket, when he was hit by a speeding vehicle around 5:45pm.

The vehicle believed to be a late-model black Jaguar XF or XE sedan fled the scene following the incident.

Police report that the driver of the vehicle made no effort to stop at the scene or to assist the injured man.

The 92-year-old man remains in hospital and is under observation.

Police have released images and CCTV of a vehicle they are seeking to identify, whose driver may be able to assist investigators with their inquiries.

Any witnesses, anyone with dashcam/CCTV, or anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
