With the Omicron strain ripping through the NRL at lightning speed, forcing players into isolation and requiring them to adhere to tighter restrictions than the public, it has caused a stir amongst the players.

With players taking to social media venting their frustrations at the reasoning behind being double vaccinated but the rules and protocols have not changed. They have been made tighter. The Chief of the players’ association (RLPA) Clint Newton has stated that the league needs to learn to live with Covid. The players went above and beyond over the last 2 years to live within their bubble to commit to playing the game amid the pandemic.

Now, with players stating they have done what needed to be done to keep the game going, why are they being made exempt from daily life? Why are the rules different for them? Why did they receive a double vaccination if nothing has changed?

‘Trying to stop Covid coming into rugby league, will be like me trying to stop an avalanche with a leaf blower,’ Quote from RLPA chief, Clint Newton.

The following quotes are from various players in the league.

“I have never seen a vaccine that forced me to wear a mask and maintain my social distance, even when you are fully vaccinated. I had never heard of a vaccine that spreads the virus even after vaccination,”

“I had never heard of rewards, discounts, incentives to get vaccinated. I never saw discrimination for those who didn’t…”, Jordan Rapana, Canberra Raiders.

“Thought I was getting the stupid vax so I didn’t have to do another year of this s***.”, Jack Wighton, Canberra Raiders.

“WTF? Double vaxxed to just stay the same?”, Latrell Mitchell, South Sydney Rabbitohs.

There are more players agreeing with these statements. When we have sporting stars speaking out at a significant risk to their careers, voicing what a lot of the public are feeling, Australian politicians may have to indeed stop changing the goalposts.

  1. Exactly why the vax when masks social distance and other requirements. Because it’s not about health that’s why. It’s compliance to Goverment. Adhering to reset building globalist 2030 adgenda that’s why. You vote out liberal labor greens and nationals in coming elections and send them packing before they send us into poverty broke and make us slaves. Your choice…
