A group of 37 former fire and emergency services chiefs have come together to accuse the government of their fumbling of the East Coast floods.
There were briefings by Federal agencies that were given to the Morrison government well ahead of summer. The Morrison government has been labelled as ‘slow to act’ when it came to declaring a national emergency.
The handling of this crisis has put a spotlight back on the 2019 bushfires and the way the government handled that.
The Prime Minister has refuted these attacks, saying that the Defence force and Commonwealth agencies responded as quickly as they could.
They have not responded as fast as they could at all, in Lismore there are plenty of soldiers but they are just walking around and sitting. No guidance or organisation being given. Australia has plenty of manpower and resources but it would seem in this incident they are being blocked from using them in these floods. Not the fault of the soldiers but of the bureaucrats in charge. You could be forgiven for thinking this is intentional on their part it is so obvious they are not being utilised.
