Breaking news from New South Wales police report that just after 7:30pm last night they arrested a man in Newtown on drug offences.
Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting patrols on King Street, when they stopped a blue Subaru BRZ as part of randomized testing.
The 30-year-old driver, who was alone in the car was tested by police.
While he returned a negative test for alcohol, police allege that he did test positive for Methylamphetamine.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle where it is alleged that they uncovered 37 grams of Methylamphetamine along with over $70,000 in cash.
The 30-year-old was arrested by police and taken to Newtown Police Station.
He was charged with commercial supply of a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited drug and dealing with proceeds of crime of less than $100,000.
He was refused bail and was due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
