Emergency crews arrived to a horrific scene early this morning in Barlow Street in Clayfield.
The child’s parents and sibling managed to escape, alerting crews that their other child was still inside the fully ablaze home.
Firefighters risked their own lives trying to reach him, fighting against intense heat and fire, they were unable to reach him and tragically the little boy lost his life.
The distraught parents were later treated for minor injuries, the other child was not injured.
Emergency crews have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire which was believed to have started at the back of the house.
A Qld Fire service spokesperson said the first of five crews arrived within minutes of the alarm being raised.
Everyone who attended the scene has been affected by this sad event. Locals have already been laying flowers.
