Former Australian cricketer Ryan Campbell, 50, is in intensive care in London after suffering a serious heart attack.
The news was broken this morning by Perth radio show 6PR Breakfast with radio host Gareth Parker breaking the news of Campbell’s heart attack.
“Cambo is currently in intensive care in a London hospital after suffering a heart attack on Sunday,” Parker said.
“As of 45 minutes ago he was still unresponsive, although under the care of his doctors he has made some attempts successfully to breathe on his own.
“This news is a real shock to his family and friends back home in Australia, who learned about it on Easter Sunday.”
Campbell reportedly suffered the heart attack whilst playing with his children at a playground in the UK. A passer-by reportedly begun CPR and stayed with Campbell until an ambulance arrived.
Campbell was placed into an induced coma at the hospital with doctors hoping to try and bring him out of the coma tomorrow, Wednesday.
The cricket world is in shock, having only just recently lost cricket legends Shane Warne and Rod Marsh.
