Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber has been found dead in his apartment by Frisco police on Wednesday.
Currently, the cause of death is unknown. His father Marion Barber II spoke to MSN “They are ruling out things. They haven’t seen any trauma, no foul substances in his body. His lungs were in working order. The heart and veins around the heart were good. They are ruling things out. Right now, we are just waiting.”
Police had responded to a welfare check at Barber’s apartment because someone had called about a water leak coming from his apartment. Police forced their way in and found Baker deceased.
The Dallas Cowboys released an official statement on Wednesday evening: “We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III. Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
Barber’s career expanded across seven seasons, six for the Cowboys from 2005 to 2011, and finally one season with the Chicago Bears.
