Former Newcastle Knights winger Jason Edward passed away on Monday, aged 52. His cause of death has not been reported at this stage.
The highlight of Edwards career was when he was chosen to represent NSW Country First against City at the Sydney Football Stadium in 1990. The then 19-year-old went on to score four tries in a big victory against the City team 38-26. The City team included rising stars Brad Fittler and Geoff Toovey.
He is survived by his wife Ellen, children Jared, Matt, Hayden, Brittney and Jason and grandchildren.
