Nigerian footballer Akeem Omolade died suddenly on Monday, June 13th, in the Italian city of Palermo.
Omolade had just undergone a series of tests at a local hospital after complaining of leg pain.
According to local media reports, he was meant to return to the hospital again on Monday, June 13th, but he could no longer walk.
A friend went to pick Omolade up to take him to the hospital, but Omolade deteriorated when getting into the car, resulting in emergency services being called. However, they could do nothing to save him.
Torino FC said: “President Urbano Cairo and all of Torino Football Club sincerely share in the Omolade family’s grief at the passing of our former player Akeem Omolade.
