In Darwin, NT, a community Facebook group called ‘Darwin Covid-19 V Adverse Reactions’ was recently created as an outlet and public forum for members of the community to share their personal experiences with the vaccine. The group was made to support those injured and get their stories heard. The group encourages all those experiencing adverse reactions to report them to the proper authorities.
It comes amid reports that a fully vaccinated employee of Charles Darwin University is currently in ICU at Royal Darwin Hospital and has been forced to sign a gag order. It is unknown if this individual has COVID or not as this information has been withheld from the public.
The current NT COVID cluster has allegedly only occurred within the remote Indigenous communities, resulting in almost a 100% vaccination rate of these communities within a few days. It is to be noted that the NT recorded its biggest COVID outbreak after the 80% double vaccination target was reached. According to a dismayed elder from Robinson River Community, where the outbreak is, the cluster originated from a double vaccinated elder who caught the virus from a politician’s sister, however, there are claims that no one in the community has seen or interacted with the alleged ‘sister’.
These events have left the people with a lot more questions than answers, but it is good to see that the community is beginning to unite. Darwin currently holds a freedom rally every Saturday at 3PM on the Esplanade, and a United NT Businesses organisation has recently been created to help business owners deal with the current mandates. This really is only the beginning of something much greater. United we stand, divided we fall!
