The football community is in shock as yet another footballer has passed away suddenly at just 29 years of age.
Jody Lukoki, a former winger for Ajax and a Democratic Republic of Congo international contracted to FC Twente was in the final stages of recovering from a cruciate ligament injury when he passed suddenly.
The cause of his death has not been reported at this stage according to The Sun.
His former club posted the news on their Twitter feed.
“Our former player Jody Lukoki has passed away at the age of 29. Rest in Peace, Jody”
Lukoki played for Holland as an under-21s player before he switched allegiance to the Democratic Republic of Congo where he played 3 games for the team.
