This Friday the 4th of February 2022, thousands of athletes from more than 100 nations will be in Beijing ready to participate in the Winter Olympiad.
Australia’s free-to-air Seven Network has secured exclusive media rights to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, continuing its longstanding partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Live coverage of the Games, which are due to run from 4th to 20th February 2022, will be shown for free across Seven’s broadcast channels and digital properties, including its streaming platform 7plus.
Over the fortnight during which the games are played, the spectacle will be watched by more than a billion people at one time or another, including an unknown number of Uyghur Muslims. The significance of carrying on with the games at this point in the history of the Uyghurs is that China is seeking to destroy their culture, their way of life, and their religion in the name of conforming to the Communist ideology.
In December of last year, an independent tribunal found the People’s Republic of China guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt, of committing crimes of torture, crimes against humanity, and genocide against the Uyghur people. The atrocities included arbitrary or unlawful killings by the government; forced disappearances by the government; torture by the government; harsh and life-threatening prison and detention conditions; arbitrary detention by the government, including the mass detention of more than one million Uyghurs and other members of predominantly Muslim minority groups in extrajudicial internment camps and an additional two million subjected to daytime-only ‘re-education’ training; arbitrary interference with privacy; pervasive and intrusive technical surveillance and monitoring, and serious restrictions on free expression. Despite these Human Rights Abuses, the “woke” Channel 7 media class are ploughing full steam ahead with the coverage and ignoring what is happening in the country that is hosting these games. How ironic these are the same wokester ‘talking heads’ that call out and want others cancelled for not taking an experimental injection or don’t play the gender identity games like men getting pregnant.
Smiling athletes will mount the podium, smiling Chinese Commies will bathe in happiness at the world’s acceptance of their terror regime, and smiling Aussie television reporters will say that things aren’t that bad in China despite the widely known cruel and unjust detention and systematic annihilation of the Uyghur culture and people. And let’s not forget the woke corporations like Apple and Nike who profit through the use of Uyghur slave labour and therefore directly complicit in the genocide. There are many social justice capitalists who are willing to prostitute their souls for a piece of the Olympic pie and the right to place the five multi-coloured connected rings that symbolise the Olympics on their products.
The athletes have already been warned that making political statements in victory or defeat will suffer consequences, which in Communist China is anything that doesn’t celebrate the Chinese Communist Party. There will be no voices raised in defence of the helpless unlike if the Palestinians were the issue where half the world would have stayed away. There will be no woke socialist teenager, Hollywood Celebrity (looking at you Mr DiCaprio) , Prince (Hi Harry), Sports Star (that would be you Lebron ‘The King’ James), Singer (Hi Taylor Swift) who would gladly speak against a Western Country for its bathroom policies yet remain silent and not condemn China for its genocide.
We should not allow the Chinese government to use these games to whitewash its attempt to destroy a people. The Beijing 2022Olympics stakeholders should uphold human rights standards, otherwise these Olympics should be forever known as the ‘Communist Genocide Games’ but instead we will be told how friendly the Chinese are and how happy and content they seem….
