A machete-wielding man has held up the Globe Derby Trotting Track, walking away with thousands of dollars of cash.
Just after 9pm on Wednesday the 18th of May, a man entered the hotel and approached two staff members whilst armed with a machete.
He threatened a woman employee and made the staff open the safe and place a large amount of cash into his duffle bag. The staff members were quite shaken by the incident but did not suffer any physical injuries.
Police patrols and PolAir searched the area for the suspect but have not found him yet. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark coloured pants and he was wearing a face covering.
