A 38-year-old man has been arrested by detectives from the Armed Crime Squad following a shooting in Melton, west of Melbourne.
The shooting occurred last Saturday (7 May 2022), and police believe it to have been a targeted attack.
Around 3pm Emergency services were called to Federation Drive in Melton where a 36-year-old Heathcote man was found at the scene appearing to have been shot multiple times.
The man was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Police report that a 38-year-old Kurunjang man surrendered himself to police yesterday evening (9 May 2022).
Following interviews with police, the man was charged with attempted murder, reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally cause serious injury and prohibited person use firearm.
He was remanded into custody and is set to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning (10 May 2022).
