The number of sudden cardiac arrest cases in Victoria and nationwide is alarming, of the nearly 7,000 Victorians who suffered such a fate last year, only 5.7% survived.

80% of sudden cardiac arrests actually occur in the home and if you cannot access a defibrillator, survival rate will decrease 10% every minute.

In a new St John Ambulance pilot program, defibrillators will be placed in the Melbourne north suburb of Resevoir. The program will run for a year, residents will be within 400 meters of the lifesaving device.

St John Ambulance Victoria will install 28 defibrillators, they also aim to train a third of all residents in CPR. This area was chosen as it had the fifth highest rate of cardiac arrests and the lowest rate of public defibrillators.

If successful, St Johns hope to roll out the program further to increase public defibrillators by 50% nationwide by 2025.

“We would like to see that Victoria becomes the safest state in Australia, if not the world to have a sudden cardiac arrest,” St John Victoria CEO Gordon Botwright said.

  1. Victoria be the safest state in the world but yet they’re pushing the 4th booster. Go away unless the Ambulance officers Doctors and Nurses grow a pair and come out and spark up

  2. I don’t suppose anyone is asking what is causing this sudden spike in ‘sudden and unexpected’ deaths from cardiac events in young people who are fit and healthy and have no risk factors. Rather than put a Bandaid over the issue by rolling out defibs, why don’t we face the elephant in the room and admit that the vaccines are not ‘safe and effective’ and stop forcing them upon people.

    • Yes let’s get AFIPN banned off Facebook, let’s go completely crazy and even when a dog dies lets say the vaccine did it. AFIPN still bring you more adverse event news, we cover all the celebrity deaths, so if you want to create a news organisation and get yourself booted off everything within one day and get yourself sued in the process then you go right ahead. You need a head on you to change the narrative, the crazy publications that just throw everything out there without first getting the concrete evidence fail miserably. Have patience, you cannot build Rome in a day.

  3. Are you all Batshit crazy, there’s a little something you’re not mentioning, why? Let an uneducated person explain it to you. The experimental trial vaccines are the cause 150% wake the f up!

  4. Such an irony. They are trying to depopulate but are installing defibs, a little counterproductive, yeah?
Well, I’ve wondered why they haven’t just gone around machine-gunning us down in our homes, but I realised that there would be total chaos and bring their scheme undone too quickly. Even the deep sleepers would wake up very quickly.
