Either Mitchell Van Homrigh has set out to deliberately deceive or he has just made a complete fool of himself with his latest article.
In the article he can’t seem to tell the difference between the new BA2 variant and a variant they have nicknamed DeltaCron. BA2, which is a mutated version of omicron is more transmissible but no more severe then the original Omicron variant.
While DeltaCron, which is a merger of Delta and Omicron is suggested to maintain the severity of Delta with the transmissibility of Omicron. This makes DeltaCron a favourite for fear mongering journalists. The only problem with DeltaCron is only a handful of cases have been detected in a few countries and it is not spreading. Not a very exciting story for journalists who thrive on sensationalism.
But according to Mitchell Van Homrigh DeltaCron is surging and experts are raising the alarm bells.
“A US epidemiologist and health economist has warned that Deltacron is “inevitably surging” – just when authorities were beginning to relax.” The article states.
The article goes on to discuss the emerging variant. “The comments come as detections of a hybrid variant, containing both the Delta and Omicron strains, grow in the US and Europe.
Scientists believe the mutated “Deltacron” strain emerged from a patient who was infected with both simultaneously.”
Then the article states this “The new variant, which is also known as BA2, was officially recognised after its genomic sequence was uploaded to the global Covid database by virologists in France last week.” Oops BA2 is not DeltaCron Mitchell.
The article goes on to say. “But the emergence of Deltacron has sparked new fears, with US epidemiologist and health economist Dr Eric Feigl-Ding – a Harvard Medical School graduate – lashing moves from the US government to close testing clinics across the country just as this new threat was rising.”
Let’s just stop for a second. Dr Eric Feigi-Ding is discussing BA2 not DeltaCron. As you can see the author has intertwined the two variants. Is it deliberate or just incompetence, we will let you be the judge of that.
