Former Australian basketballer Ben Madgen has been hospitalised after suffering from Pericarditis after his Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.
Madgen shared the news on his Twitter account, “Ended up in the emergency room on Wednesday night after taking the 2nd Pfizer shot. Diagnosed with Pericarditis. The Dr. said this is now common after the Pfizer shot, especially with teenage boys and young males”
Madgen started his career as a development player for the Adelaide 36ers before heading over to the United States to play college basketball with Augusta State University from 2006 to 2010. From 2010 to 2015 he played for the Sydney Kings before heading to Europe, where he played for clubs in Belgium, Lithuania, and Germany.
