The Northern Territory government today has seen Dan’s hand and raised it.
Announced today, the NT government has issued a legal direction mandating any workers who has face-to-face contact with the public, retail and supermarket workers, barbers and hairdressers, beauty therapists and many more to have had their “first jab” by 12th November.
Any who do not comply with the new mandate and have their second vaccination by 24th December face a fine of $5000 for attending their workplace.
The legal direction has been made to allow employers to request a worker’s private medical information, proof of vaccination, and to keep and record this information in a register.
There is also an amendment being allowed for to mandate boosters for these workers in 2022.
Mr Gunner (Chief Minister) said anyone seeking an exemption must have medical evidence to back their claim. Evidence required is a certificate issued by the Commonwealth that certifies the worker has a contradiction to all approved COVID-19 vaccines.
With the states and territory’s now mandating vaccination to earn a living, it isn’t hard to make a comparison’s now back to 1940s, what we fail to learn from history we are doomed to repeat.
All states now have mandated some or as it would appear all their “essential” workers, how long before the rest of the states fall in line.
Victoria may very well have been the test case.
