New South Wales police are appealing for public assistance after a 19-year-old male was stabbed in the buttocks on Thursday 5 May 2022. The incident occurred about 7.15pm, with emergency services called to a shopping centre carpark on McFarlene Street, Merrylands.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command found the man with a stab wound and were told the man was involved in a fight with a group of five other men armed with a baton and knife, before being stabbed. All the males were apparently of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance with black hair. The men were said to have fled the scene in a white BMW.
The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation continues with police wishing to speak with the five males seen in the area at the time of the incident.
