From the 1st of May, Poland’s military will enact military exercises across the country. Residents will see increased traffic and “columns of military vehicles” across the country. The residents have been urged not to take any footage of the “columns” as it may have a negative impact on the security and defense on the country. Aircraft landings, troop movements as well as locations of any military vehicles could be used as data to unfriendly countries.
A statement has been released by the Polish Military regarding the upcoming exercises.
Military vehicles will be found on highways, expressways, and national roads.”
“The arrival and passage of the columns will also be used by the participants of the exercises, i.e. to practice the reception and deployment of allied forces, to coordinate cross-border activities, and to cooperate with host nations.”
There was no elaboration on who the host nations were.
This announcement came about after the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin accused Poland of preparing to invade Western Ukraine for reunification. He also alleged that Poland will go under the guise of a peacekeeping mission to protect Ukraine from Russian aggression.
The military exercise will last a month, but most activity will take place on a nightly basis, but residents will see armoured vehicles and troop movements during the day as well.
