Victorian Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Mickleham yesterday and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Detectives have established that Korey Kesici had walked outside of his home and had a brief discussion with a male occupant of a silver BMW parked on the street, before being shot multiple times by the driver.
The pair left in the vehicle which was found alight a short time later nearby on Georges Street.
At around 12:05am Police and emergency services were called to Bangalore Way following reports that a man had been shot.
The man, 22-year-old Korey Kesici, died at the scene.
While a motive is yet to be established, investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives believe it was a targeted and organized attack and that Kesici had a connection to the male driver.
Police are calling for the assistance of any witnesses who may have been in the area between 11am and 1am yesterday morning, or who may have seen the silver BMW prior to the incident.
Anyone who can provide information on Kesici’s associates or information relating to the motivation for the shooting is urged to contact the police. Information can be provided anonymously.
