Investigations are underway by Queensland Police following the break-and-enter of a shop in Bungalow yesterday.
It is alleged that in the early hours of the morning two 31-year-old men in possession of a stolen 4WD forced entry into a Scott Street shop by driving into the shop doors, and then used the vehicle to flee the scene with stolen property.
Police said the pair evaded attempts to intercept it at Ray Jones Drive.
Officers then successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at Stony Creek, and following a short pursuit, intercepted the stolen vehicle at Bentley Park.
Two men were taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle yielded firearms, drugs, and property linked to the shop.
A 31-year-old Manoora was charged with 2 counts each of unlawful possession of weapons, enter premises and commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, and receiving tainted property. The man was also charged with one count each of authority required to possess explosives, evasion offence, and receiving property.
The man remains in custody and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
A 31-year-old Brinsmead was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on May 12.
