Yesterday, Nikolai Patrushev, the secretary of Russia’s Security Council, stated that US advisors in Ukraine are helping Kiev develop biological and nuclear weapons which is potentially raising the risk of nuclear war.
Patrushev did not offer any evidence to back up his statements.
Last week Russia repeated its accusations of the U.S. assisting Ukraine to develop biological weapons, claims which Washington considers “laughable.”
John Kirby, U.S. Pentagon spokesman said that “the Russian accusations are absurd.” “There’s nothing to it. It is classic Russian propaganda.”
State Department spokesman Ned Price went on to say that Russia “is inventing false pretexts in an attempt to justify its own horrific actions in Ukraine.”
Ukraine does however have public “health laboratories” which were researching how to mitigate the threats of dangerous diseases.
Over the years its laboratories have received support from the U.S., European Union, and World Health Organization.
