A Russian missile strike has reportedly hit and destroyed a Ukrainian factory, believed to have been the source of the missile which sunk the Russian missile cruiser ‘Moskva.’ In unverified footage circulating online, heavy explosions can be heard across Kiev as missile strikes hit various targets across the city.
The latest statements from the Russian Defence Ministry indicate that the Russian army destroyed the Zhulyansk machine building plant, through the use of Kalibr missiles. Further intense attacks are planned for the capital after acknowledging they carried out the attack on “the Vizar plant which makes, repairs anti-ship missiles.”
“The number and scale of missile strikes against targets in Kyiv will increase in response to the Kiev nationalist regime committing any attacks of a terrorist nature or sabotage on Russian territory,” stated Russian defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.
This latest retaliation attack comes a days after Russian flagship missile cruiser ‘Moskva’ was sunk on the Black Sea. Ukrainian government officials claim the naval vessel was destroyed by its country’s forces, via a Neptune anti-ship missile. Russia denies the claims however.
