Ipswich detectives are investigating an incident in Springfield around 9pm last night which has left two men with serious injuries.
Police were called to a residence in Greenway Circuit following a disturbance. A 33-year-old man was located at the scene and had sustained serious injuries.
Investigations by detectives revealed the 33-year-old man attended the Greenway Circuit residence with a 28-year-old man where an altercation involving bladed weapons took place between the pair and the 32-year-old male resident.
The 28-year-old sustained serious injuries as a result of the altercation.
The 33-year-old remains in serious condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The 32-year-old resident left the scene by a vehicle before police attended the scene. Police located the vehicle, and the man was taken into custody.
The 28-year-old and 32-year-old men are currently assisting police with their inquiries.
