A long running investigation aimed at disrupting and dismantling a syndicate allegedly responsible for trafficking methylamphetamine across South West Victoria has reached it’s second phase.

On Thursday, four people from Warrnambool were arrested and remanded to appear before the courts under a range of charges.

Two of the arrests include a 30 year old man and a 50 year old woman from Warrnambool who are facing charges of trafficking methylamphetamine and possessing proceeds of a crime. The maximum penalty for these charges are 15 years in prison. They have both been remanded in custody to appear in court on the 7th of April.

A 26 year old man also from Warrnambool was served with a firearm prohibition order and possession of methylamphetamine. He was bailed to appear in court on the 18th of July.

A 19 year old woman also from Warrnambool was interviewed for possession of methylamphetamine, released, with further enquiries to be made.

A 34 year old woman also from Warrnambool will also be spoken to at a later date.

Last Wednesday, 10 search warrants were executed across suburbs of Victoria including Grovedale, Highton, Point Cook, Werribee amd Warrnambool where a range of items were seized. Including half a million dollars of Methylamphetamine, $196,350 in cash, a range of weapons including a handgun, pistol, 2 silencers, shotgun and an extendable baton. Three luxury vehicles valued at $390,000, a Kenworth truck and four motorbikes which are all alleged proceeds of crime.

Six people were arrested at these raids, with four of them charged with trafficking of a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine. All have been remanded to face court at a later date.

A number of police taskforces have worked together to dismantle the syndicate.
