At about 12:50am this morning, police attended a house on Leffler Street, Oran Park, regarding a noise complaint.

Police spoke to the occupants of the dwelling and requested that the music be turned down. A woman at the property refused and became argumentative with police before a male occupant complied and turned the music down.

Officers then turned around and headed towards the vehicle when the woman followed and continued to argue with officers.

A man holding a pool cue ran down the driveway towards the officers and allegedly threw the pool cue at a male constable before throwing punches at him. Police deployed capsicum spray before further occupants from the home got involved.

Police called for backup, and when they arrived, the woman was alleged to have kicked a male Sargent in the shin. Another police officer then attempted to arrest the woman, and during the attempt, the man allegedly kicked him in the face.

A 39-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were restrained and arrested.

One officer sustained a laceration to the face that required treatment from paramedics.

The man was charged with intimidate police officer in execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty, resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

The woman was charged with two counts of assault police officer in execution of duty and resist officer in execution of duty.

She was granted strict bail conditions and is set to appear at Picton Local Court on Wednesday, 6 July 2022.
