But back to the battlefield, Putin had told the Russian population to prepare for a long conflict beyond May 9. The weather is due to fine up soon and this may be the trigger for the offensive to begin in the southeast. Already the convoys on the railways, roads and airports have almost stopped on the roads out of Gomel.
I did not see one truck full of soldiers today coming through Gomel. Unlike the last few days. It’s terribly unreasonable weather right now, low cloud, sleet and winter conditions. But not freezing.
There are strikes happening throughout Central Ukraine and heavy missile attacks on infrastructure. But definitely something is brewing in the southeast.
