An urgent recall has been issued for Barossa Fine Foods, ham products.

Two of the products are suspected of being contaminated with the bacteria Listeria.

The first product is “No Added Nitrite Ham”, 100 grams with a use by date of the 3rd of November 2021, which was sold in IGA’s across South Australia, Western Australia, and the ACT, as well as Woolworths in New South Wales. Several Independent grocery stores also stocked it across NSW, SA, ACT and WA.

The second product also involved in the recall is “Double Smoked Ham”, 100 grams with a use by date of November 10, 2021, sold in IGAs across South Australia, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Western Australia, and Queensland. It was also sold across Foodland stores in SA and Independent grocery stores across VIC and ACT.

The recall issued by Food Standards Australia said food products contaminated with (listeria monocytogenes) may cause illness if consumed. Listeria may cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and people with low immune systems.

It stated, “consumers should not eat this product. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
