On the weekend US Navy’s P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft has a run in with Russian fighter jets over the Mediterranean Sea with the Pentagon accusing the Russian pilots of conducting “unprofessional intercepts”
Captain Mike Kafka, Director of Defense Press Operations said in a statement “We can confirm that over the course of last weekend, three US Navy P-8A aircraft experienced unprofessional intercepts by Russian aircraft.”
The incident is believed to have occurred in international waters as both Russia and the USA alongside their respective allies held naval drills in the Mediterranean Sea.
The United States have made their concerns known to Russian officials. Russia has made no public response on the incident.
