A 52-year-old woman has been arrested due to allegedly trying to poison dogs with baited meat in Melbourne’s east.
A member of the public allegedly saw the 52-year-old laying pieces of meat along High Street in Armadale on Tuesday night and followed the woman.
Police later retrieved suspected baits from 19 different locations between Glenferrie Road and Orrong Road. Several comments have alleged that two people were involved, and it is still a big problem.
The Prahran woman was interviewed by police on Tuesday night before she was released pending summons.
Reports of baiting in the area back date to March 15, which has dog owners worried and angry.
The suspected baits are undergoing examination to determine what substance they may contain, and the RSPCA has been contacted.
Anyone with information or CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
