A young woman’s decomposed body was found washed up this morning on a popular Sydney beach by a horrified local.
Police rushed to the northern end of Bronte Beach about 5:45am after a member of the public called triple zero and have cordoned off the beach as police investigate, with a police tent set up on the sand.
The woman’s age is uncertain but is believed to be aged between 20-30 years old. Officers are now looking through missing persons list to identify her.
Investigators have said the body seemed to have been in the water for a long period of time and has declared the beach a crime scene, yet police are currently treating the woman’s death as not suspicious.
The entire beach has been closed to the public.
